More work on the 1969 UH-1 006

UH-1 Restoration Update

Some photos of the resent work on the restoration of our UH-1. The pilot and Co-pilot seat were removed. Magnetic brake assy. was replaced under the pilot seat pannel. The log book storage was added to the console. The under the floor area was cleaned. Replaced the entire co-pilot nose section to include the skin and all frame work under the skin. Lots of rivets!!

All doors have been replaced. Engine cover doors replaced. New access panels. Repaired drains. Still need to finish the removal of the remaining rivets in the co-pilot side crew door track. Old one is bad, have a new one to go in, but must remove alot of rivets.

Have also included some photos of the UH-1 as found in the bone yard.

Have a 2nd UH-1. Was only a basic air frame when we got it. Have added doors and panels all around. Hand made some greenhouse glass over the pilot and co-pilot. What a time that was!!! Included a photo of that.

Still a great deal of work to do, have many new parts to add as time permits. Anyone who wants to donate some time and help, I could use it!!

Have complete rotor system, it will be added last after paint.

It will be a very nice restoration when completed.

Will be replacing the Tail Boom also. Have a better unit.

Don't Miss a Thing
